February 4, 2006
suppose it's time for an update

I woke up early this morning, after Allison left with her stack of cake, due to the PG&E guy reading the meter. Couldn't fall back asleep, but I didn't try too much. So today will be a long day, of which I suppose I don't have enough.

I did some arrangment/editing of this song last night with REAPER (Dave Wiener sent me those amazing vocals to work with). It really worked well. It's exceeding my expectations as far as what it can do. There's still so much to do, though. So so much. I'd say 1.0 in june would be plenty of time, though. if I don't get too tired.

a) why only for windows? os x is far better and despite all the other audio programs lacks anything close to cool edit pro. I don't know what this prog is like b/c I don't feel like setting up vpc right now and have no x86 hardware on hand.

b) music is a great hobby, but I'd stick to your day job...whatever thata may be. that song sounded as good as this site looks.

c) there is no c.

Kick ass. You're in the awesome sweet spot of having a stable architecture nailed down and a mile-long feature list ahead of you. Good times.

I use both to record at the moment (Windows and OS X) connected to a Tascam FW-1082 control surface/audio interface. To me, it doesn't matter if it's OS X or Windows. On the PC side I use Sonar 5 Producer's Edition and on the OS X side I use Digital Performer 4.6. Both run very fast. I wouldn't say OS X is better than Windows in this day and age.

Use whatever works for you... end of story.

REAPER looks awesome. Keep it up!

Hrm. Well, with a bit more editting, you could make it sound like "Wolf Moon (Including Zoanthropic Paranoia)" by Type O Negative from the "October Rust" album. (Seriously, check that song out; you might chuckle)
