Isn't this system the web? Which URL shorteners and facebook and twitter are trying to kill? Where you own your domain and can move it anywhere, and you host your content by yourself or pay for a host and you're free to move it to other provider and the whole world can still hit it through the same domain.
The system doesn't need to be created, it exists.. it's just begging to be saved

If I'm having a good time and I post something stupid. I want to be able to take things down and get rid of it.

Twitter is different for me. I can be whoever I want, they don't take your account away because you use an Alias etc. The roots come from IRC, in someways anyway.

I remember seeing that -- is the underlying protocol for it defined online somewhere? To me, that definition needs to be as simple and powerful as possible (i.e. like HTTP); you shouldn't have to run their server, it should be easy for someone to spend a weekend and build their own (at least to implement the subset that is meaningful to them)...

Drink more, it's interesting to have thoughts and talks like these. Your post reminded me a bit of Howard Hughes father. His father made his fortunes by leasing bits to people so they could drill into the ground to strike oil. Prior to this, he had nothing going on in his life and was not wealthy at all. He was said to be handsome, a charmer and a gambler. That was pretty much it.

When the oil craze hit, people tried to make tools that would drill further into the ground to increase the chances of striking oil. Eventually, he took a look at these machines and bought one. The problem was that they couldn't drill good enough into the ground. So he decided to make a different bit and attached it to the machine. He realized that the design he and a colleague came up with worked much better and went further into the ground. Which is what people needed. Soon after this he started to lease them to anyone who wanted to drill for oil and charged a huge price. And during the oil craze people were willing to accept that price. Because if they struck oil, the money they would gain would be well worth the bill for the lease. This is how he made his wealth.

He didn't invent the machine he was using, he just made a different design for the bit that could be used and that changed everything for him.

Just like in your post about ideas. It does suck that someone can have an idea and do nothing with them. But yet someone else comes up with the same idea and implements it can get in trouble for it by law. This reminds me patents, and it is a shame that someone can have a patent and do nothing with it. And someone who takes the risk without knowing gets into trouble.

Side note. Howard Hughes Sr did end up with a patent for two-crone roller bit.

I really have to say thanks. BIG TIME.

I was using nuendo 4 (yes, the jack sparrow version), and I purchased reaper with almost not knowledge (well I tried it a year ago but I was working with nuendo and I was fine with it), just became frustrated with the freaking Rewire, so I saw a post talking about the great reaper x32 bridge and I just bought it.

I cant believe this piece of software, blows my freaking mind, some tutorials some reading of the manual, AND IT IS THE FUCKING SHIIIIT.

Thank you so much, really it gives a lot for people.

I was EVEN more impressed by the forums, the great community and developers you have there, I`m not much of a coder myself, but those people are amazing, you deserve half credit for that jajajaj.

Chapeau from Argentina, I hope this software will keep growing, you (and all musicians), deserve this.

Thank you again for this.

Sorry for my broken english.

Congratulations Justin! I've had a Reaper license since version 1. I still am amazed and grateful for the work that you and your team do in producing such a fine product. My son is now an avid user (knows Reaper way better than me!) and has used it record and produce a 6-song EP for his band as well as working with other artists. We're a low-income family and the generosity of Cockos in making all this functionality so affordable still blows me away. I feel like my son is just the kind of person you do it for. Thank you!

From WINAMP to Reaper... and the ability to turn Reaper into a sustainable business financially. It's clear to me that the word "Luck" is irrelevant to reapers success. How are you able to create things that people like and are willing to pay for it? I heard you talk on bigthink stating you make things that you find interesting or making something better that already exists. I mean even if that were true..Is that all there is to it during your thought process? I just find it all so interesting and inspiring. I mean I think it's great what you and the team at Cockos are doing.

Just wondering if the downloadable installs can be mirrored? Had a quick look for the software license but couldn't see it on the website. Would be happy to mirror the software on our site to help spread the downloads around.

Yes, in a little bit of olive oil, and then salt them. They are Padron peppers, occasionally a pepper is reasonably hot, but all of them taste wonderful.

yeah who would keep their minimum wage job? better yet who would keep their sweat shop job? who would bother to be a corporate slave anymore? who would make my clothes, my shoes? how would we get things we don't need? who would make my food? would i have to use my money to buy land and grow my own food and make my own things? as it is right now those with moderate (but not insane amounts) of money are not hurting at all. those with insane amounts are also not hurting. its the people working minimum wage jobs and in sweat shops that are hurting. would there be so much suffering if every one was given a fair share. i dont think so. would everyone make an extreme less amount of money than the current middle class standard.. yep. from what i have read everyone would make around 3 thousand dollars a year (or around 280,00 a lifetime) but everyone would also have a few acres of land.3 thousand seems like very little but with 3 thousand dollars a year or (280,000 to spend how you please) and your own land to grow your own food EVERYONE would be able to make it. money really would not be an issue anymore because people would start bartering. all you would need money for is yearly seed to grow your food. or to by solar panels once every ten years.

Cool!

Yeah, it's only used in the peak tracking stuff, and it's the least-significant part, so one would perhaps not even notice it.
